Fragrance Square is located at the north end of Winding Road with Bouquet, like a peach blossom receptacle. Standing here you may have a common understanding of the history of Hengshui Laobaigan liquor and its brewing. At this moment, the bouquet from Workshop No. 8 may come to you, as well as the fragrance of flowers around or on the opposite hills in spring or autumn, more refreshing and gladdening.
Workshop No. 8 covers an area of 9600 m2 with 7280 underground tuns, 80 pits, 8 sets of distilling steamers and utensils and 1800 tons capacity. This workshop is a traditional handmade workshop using traditional 5-steaming technique and is one of national intangible cultural heritages representing the production pattern of Hengshui Laobaigan liquor making in the 1980s, with ground vat fermentation, manual operations for grain feeding, stirring and refilling as well as steel wire rope electric hoist and airing machine, having industry 1.0 features.

Workshop No. 10 Workshop No. 10 covers an area of 6000 m2 with 4601 ground tuns, 60 pits, 6 sets of distilling steamers and utensils and 1400 tons capacity. Based on the preservation of essence of Hengshui Laobaigan liquor making, in this workshop created a production process of distillation and purification which represents the production pattern of Hengshui Laobaigan liquor making in the early 20th century, with ground vat fermentation, manual operations for grain feeding, stirring and refilling as well as some auxiliary mechanized operations for grain moisturizing, stirring, airing and conveying, having industry 2.0 features.
The Brass Sculptures of 5 General Secretaries In early 1949, the Soviet special envoy Mikoyan came to Xibaipo. 5 secretaries of the CPC Central Committee, Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai and Ren Bishi, showed their hospitality with Hengshui Laobaigan. Mikoyan said “Your Laobaigan is better than our vodka!”
The First Liquor Cellar of the PRC Grown up in the Han Dynasty and flourished in the Tang Dynasty, Hengshui Laobaigan became well known in Song Dynasty and got its name in Ming Dynasty. Hengshui was liberated in December 1945 and the local government converted all 18 local private liquor-making businesses to one state-owned distillery, being the first one under the leadership of CPC. In the development history for more than 70 years since then, successive state leaders have showed their concerns for Hengshui Laobaigan. The liquor cellar has such areas as the lobby hall, liquor storage, liquor bank, tasting hall, private reserve and others. You may have a review of traditional techniques, history and honors and taste the liquor of different years, meanwhile, you may also select some liquor you prefer and store in a jar.
Liquor Bank Liquor Bank is a private reserve with value-added services available and has a hall “Singing while Drinking” where the visitors may go in for a ceremony of jar sealing, taste the liquor and communicate with chief liquor appraisers in China about the feelings and experiences. It has several private reserve zones with an area of more than 900 m2 and for storing thousand of jars.
1915 Square In 1915, in order to celebrate the opening of navigation of the Panama Canal, an international competition was held in San Francisco to commemorate the connecting between the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. It was called the “Panama International Goods Fair”, the predecessor of the World Exposition. The awards include Grand prize, Medal of honor, Gold medal, Silver medal, Bronze medal and Honorable medal. It was also the first time for China to take part in international affairs as a state participant. This part of the history is marked as the first time for goods made in China to go to the world. Such award marked a leading position of its technology and quality for the time. Products from Deju, one of the 18 distilleries, representing Zhili Government, sailed over the great oceans and stepped on the world stage, and won the top gold award. To honor this award, we developed 1915 series in the end of 2008.
